Who Needs ID Verification?
ID verification is required during Standard Carrier Alpha Code® (SCAC™) issuance or renewal for non-Class 8 carriers only in this initial phase.

ID Verification Applies To
You are required to complete ID Verification if you are:

A non-Class 8 carrier;

A non-CDL box truck operator;
-
A cargo van or sprinter van operator;
-
A last-mile or middle-mile carrier; or
-
A small-fleet operating outside traditional Class 8 trucking.

Non-Class 8 carriers typically include non-commercial driver’s license (CDL) box truck operators, cargo van operators, last-mile carriers, and small fleets operating outside traditional heavy-duty trucking.
Non-Class 8 includes all vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 33,000 pounds or less.
