SCAC Verified™ is NMFTA’s official SCAC lookup tool, designed to strengthen trust across the freight operating ecosystem. Available for purchase by carriers, shippers, brokers, 3PLs, platforms, and insurers, it enables you to check SCAC status through a web app or API—turning trust from assumed to verified.
Separate from the new ID verification requirement for non-Class 8 carriers, SCAC Verified provides a status-only trust signal so you can proactively confirm identity verification at the moments that matter most; during onboarding, at tender, and before pickup. When the industry relies on the same verified standard, fraud has fewer places to hide, and everyone moves with greater confidence.
Preparing for SCAC ID Verification for non-Class 8 Carriers
Beginning February 26, 2026, non-Class 8 carriers will complete identity verification as part of the SCAC issuance and renewal process. This one-time step binds a verified identity to your SCAC, helping protect your business from impersonation and misuse.
