Reinstating an Expired SCAC

If your Standard Carrier Alpha Code® (SCAC) is not renewed by its expiration date, it is marked as expired and becomes inactive. An expired SCAC can create delays and complications when working with shippers, brokers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), platforms, or government systems.

What Happens When a SCAC Expires

An expired SCAC will:

Verify Online Tall-1

Be flagged as inactive in carrier lookup systems

Delay onboarding or tender acceptance

Require additional fees to reinstate

Cause delays at the border

How to Reinstate an Expired SCAC

To reinstate your SCAC, simply go to scaccode.com, enter your SCAC, and continue through the reinstatement process. Additional fees will apply.
